Our Process
Is there a cost to meet with me?
- First meetings are free of charge. They are informal and provide an opportunity for you to ask questions about your specific situation and gain a better understanding of how I help you with your finances. I have a highly specialized practice working with physicians and dental professionals. I believe making your finances a priority at this point is integral to put yourself on the proper financial track for long term success. Many people don’t commonly have a concern or need to address right away; however, financial planning does not traditionally begin at any one stage or once someone has achieved a particular level of wealth. Often times, I am looking for a red flag or simple change that could be made to help one avoid spending time correcting an issue in the future that could’ve been easily fixed today. Educating the people I work with is an important focus from the start.
When is the right time to meet with a financial advisor?
Without knowing the specifics of your situation, we couldn't tell you the exact areas of your finances that might be overlooked; however, people we meet with are commonly paying too much in taxes, not appropriately or efficiently saving for retirement, their assets and future earnings are unnecessarily exposed to creditors and/or people are assuming too much risk within their financial situation. There is some work required to reduce or eliminate these problems, but it is well worth it in the long run. The best thing for people is to begin creating a plan for their finances sooner rather than later. If you are still interested it would be a good idea for us to try and find a time to meet. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email or call.
Whats the meeting process like?
- The initial meetings usually entail answering questions, reviewing your fact finder, discussing future goals, etc. We spend one or two meetings educating our clients on the financial issues they need to be aware of. Recommendations are fluid along the way.
- More often than not, we tend to meet or talk more frequently during the first few years in practice as there are typically many changes taking place during this period.
- At a minimum, we like to see our clients once a year after a plan is in place. We have an open-door policy and invite you to ask questions as they come up. If there's an issue related to your finances that we aren't directly involved in, we should at least be able to point you in the right direction.
- The first meeting tends to be pretty informal. They’re mainly an opportunity for you to learn more about how we help you with their finances. The meeting also provides you with the ability to ask us any questions that have been bothering you about your personal financial situation. 45 minutes is usually sufficient for this initial meeting.
Should you have any questions or simply want to visit before potentially setting up a meeting, please do not hesitate to call or email us directly. You can always reach me at 312-447-1356. We will typically get back to you within hours if we miss your call.
